MCD Completes First Stage to Double Manufacturing Capacity
McKinney, TX - In July 2010 MCD Innovations has moved to a new corporate and manufacturing headquarters, 9.6-acre campus in McKinney, TX. Now, just 1½ years later, due to high demand for its unique products, the company is expanding yet again. The first stage of the planned expansion that will end up doubling the production capacity for MCD shades was recently completed.
With this first expansion stage, MCD has increased our in-house machine shop area and added several brand new pieces of equipment including a 4th-axis CNC milling machine. MCD also enhanced their 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week automated testing stations, which utilize computers and PLC controls to ensure that the highest level of performance possible in every motorized shade produced by MCD. Furthermore, we have enlarged their fabrication department and added several new pieces of machinery and applicable personnel to accommodate the increased demand for shade installations at the factory in McKinney.
The engineering department of MCD utilizes state-of-the-art SolidWorks 3D Design Software in the development of new products. The engineering group also uses advanced 3D Printing to model and prove new concepts before moving to hard tooling.

When the current expansion is completed, we will be in position to be one of, if not the largest, roller shade manufacturers in the entire world. We will be positioned to continue to meet the ever increasing demand from OEMs, dealers, and individuals, as well as new markets," said Travis Townsley, Senior RV Market Manager.
